Just as fast as it started…

It had to end. It was a bitter sweet day when we arrived back in Tokyo. We knew that was going to be our last time together with the group and we didn’t waste it we went to Harajuku and went to this crazy cafe place and had a great burger.
And yes it was good burger too the boys at home would have been happy with this chicken burger. Followed up by some crazy entertainment.
Then we checked into our rooms and met up for our final epic dinner before we then did what everyone must do in Japan…. Karaoke!
It was a great way to say Good bye to everyone with good food good booze and a lot of drunk singing…..
It’s been an amazing two and a half weeks. I’ve gotten to experience the country I’ve wanted to see as a child and finally made a dream of mine come true. The timing and a rival were amazing to get the Cherry blossoms on my first day and just knew this would be a trip I’ll never forget.
Sitting here waiting for the shuttle to take me to the airport for my next stop and reflecting back and can honestly say I’ll never forget my time here and the people I shared these experiences with. I chatted with one the group and discussed this and their perspective is you come to these things have a great time but leave and never see or speak to them again.
I’d have to kindly disagree. I’ve met some people I consider friends and will definitely see. Already planning a catch up with some in Germany later in the year. And hope to stay in contact with them so much more adventures to be had.
The group I traveled with couldn’t have been better. They were a great mix of people and stories and was great to get along with them all. I was worried coming into this as my first trip alone in the big wide world and what would happen. But I consider it the best group and best guide out of any of the others in Japan.
We passed so many other groups along the way and none came close to looking as enthusiastic and energetic as we did or came close to Kiriko (our guide). She was amazing and can’t thank my little Japanese sister enough for giving me a trip I’ll never forget…..
But this is just the begging. Time for me to start the world’s biggest detour to visit a post office…. next up Edinburgh, Scotland!
