That is all I can think about being in Hiroshima. Doesn’t help that woke up with a head cold and not feeling great to start with. Yes I wore one of those masks. I did not do it to be funny, even though I look like an idiot. I did it as i respect the Japanese people and to be polite and not spread my germs.

We arrive to Hiroshima to some lovely weather and a lovely hotel. We went out to the peace gardens and to the A-dome the Hypo-center of the first atomic blast. Most of he building was left in tact due to the explosion being 600 meters about it.

The peace gardens were tranquil even with so many people gathered. Some lovely shrines and symbols for peace. Such as the shine to Sadako who was near the blast and then got cancer and made over a thousand paper cranes to make her wish come true to get better.

And the Peace flame that will only go out when all nuclear weapons have been abolished.

We went on to the museum and was a true reminder of what we as a species are capable of doing to each other.

I didn’t take many pictures here. I felt that this is something that should be seen only with your own eyes to appreciate the gravity of what happend. But it is good to see so much reinforcement for peace to come out of such a tragedy and hope to see that thrive.

We ended up having the local dish in Hiroshima. Okonomiyaki, it was fantastic! They are a pancake with noodles and other fillings of your choice. I only got in a couple photos as but that stage body was fading fast but seemed I made an impression on the owner who offered me a job to work for him and teach him English!

After some drugs from the pharmacy and a solid nights sleep i was feeling a bit more human with a cough. But you realize quickly it doesn’t matter how shit you’re feeling, end of the day we have so much cool stuff to do you just get on with it.

The next day we went to Miyajima island after gong for a morning walk to look at some more beautiful cherry blossoms.

Miyajima is amazing, even if you’re feeling still not well. Day was beautiful and the island has a lot to offer.

And one of the specialties here is their oysters! So needed to fuel up for the day!

Still not feeling the best, but I smashed my way through climbing Mt Misen and got some stunning views.

And top it off one hell of a sun set before heading back for dinner.
