The highs and lows of Kyoto

The highs and lows of Kyoto

Arriving in Kyoto the old capital has been a been thing on my to do list for a number of years. To finally be here and be part of this place was amazing the cherry blossoms were out and was a great afternoon.

The next day was a busy one. We saw the golden pavilion and also the Castle.  I tell you what though, these guys don’t do things by halves. The size of both was amazing but also majorly crowded at the pavilion.

I had one of the best nights on the trip that night. Went out to one of the gardens and had hot sake and meat skewers and walked around and saw some amazing blossoms at night.

When you’re drunk you can be a happy, sad or angry one. Well tell you what, I was a happy man! I decided these old Japanese guys were the life of the party. So what do you do, but jump in and start playing drunk rock, paper and scissors of course! They were a blast and ended up winning some beer and getting to meet some crazy fun guys for my trouble. That was the high for sure.

Unfortunately the low came the next morning waking up to coughing up green shit and having to spend the day at the hospital to see a doctor to get antibiotics. It also meant I missed out on one of the one things I really wanted to do this trip. It’s one of those things you learn quickly to really live in the moment you have to let go of those things you want for things you need to do.
So time to rest up got six hours of traveling and need to just rest and get better I’m not letting a chest infection get in the way of the next moment…
