And so it begins

I finally kicked off my first tour the other day and got to meet our guide and also the friends I’ll be making along the way.
What better way to get to know them than over a meal then sake!
Seems my luck has been pretty good! These guys are all from different places and do some amazing things. It’s been great to meet them. In the morning I played tour guide to the main senso-ji a massive Buddhist temple and an amazing beautiful structure.
Then later that morning got to leave Tokyo on bullet train. Which is amazing and soo need these in New Zealand. Hell, even the express train they have here would be a vast improvement.
We arrive to the remote are of Takayama and a lot higher up and colder but stunning little town. After about 5 hours traveling was time for some food. A few of the girls had found a nice Japanese restaurant to go to so we all have it a try.
Damn me if that wasn’t the best sashimi I have ever eaten in my life. Duane you’d have loved this mate!
To finish off a night, we are staying in a nice traditional Japanese Ryokan where you where a night kimono and have a osen to relax the muscles before climbing into a futon bed.
