My First time….

So how to begin this… Well in Kiwi fashion I’m sitting here with a pie, monster and a couple of scratchies thinking of what the hell to write about. I haven’t even left yet, let alone get to the airport. However, I thought I best start getting used to this who blogging business.
I fly out tomorrow and in my good fashion, I’m not fully ready. I’m still running around getting forms filled out and signed for things like my will and power of attorney. To be fair, I had organised these about a month or so ago and they hadn’t gotten off their ass to get them completed. It is just little things like that, that have kept me from feeling ready about this massive adventure I’m about to begin.
I’ve finished work and had a fantastic send-off. It’s one thing to have worked at a place for 11 years and just leave. But another to be recognised by those you work with and for them all to put something together as A tribute was something I know I will never forget. Mainly due to the fact I spent my last day in seriously hungover state and my mate Baxter for getting me to eat A habanero at my farewell… Bastard.
I’ve said goodbye to my Friends. It’s a massive feeling to know that you have so many friends and loved ones that have come to say goodbye and wish you well. To be fair it’s never really goodbye these days with social media and all that it’s more I’ll see you in person down the track.
I’ve left the city I’ve called home for most of my life and no longer have any belongings as such other than those that I now have in my pack. It’s a surreal feeling after owning your own house and just living comfortably to give it up to live out of a bag and travel and not know exactly what’s going to happen. All I know is tomorrow I head to Auckland and the adventure really begins…
