What’s the best way to relax after the Himalayas..

Just pop into Dubai for a couple days. Dubai is an amazing city. I can only describe it as Grand. Everything is massive and beautiful and screamed if a city that has had a lot of money invested into it. Which of course it does.

I stayed near the beach at the ocean view hotel and had an amazing view. The room itself was world’s apart from what I had from the previous two weeks. Though I didn’t get to spend much time there as I was starving.

This is where I go off on a tangent. The reason I was hungry was because of flydubai. I can say after my first experience with them I’d never use then again. Not only was the flight three hours late. They had no staff on the ground to explain why nor when it did arrive they apologize. Once on board were delayed by another hour waiting to take off. By this stage I was a tad ticked and hunger as hell. But what got me was the fact they didn’t offer anyone water or anything for the delay and carried on like normal. So yes a good lesson learnt if nothing else.

Back to feeding the beast. I was in sore need of a steak. What I found was a massive 500 gm fillet steak that was absolutely amazing. Add to that, a small walk to the Gelato shop and I was a happy man again.

I thought that I wouldn’t get time to do anything and just spend it sleeping but managed to see a couple of the sites and was seriously impressed with the 7 star hotel Burj Al Arab. You can’t come here and not go see it.

The hitch is you can’t just rock up to the place and have a look around. Has some tight security but you can pay to have dinner or high tea and book to go in. However if  you just want to look outside and see it in its glory there are ways to get onto the private beaches without paying for a room in the surrounding hotels and also get to play on the beach.

The other sight I went to and worth seeing was Burj Khalifa. I recommend going at night when it’s lit up and also go to the Dubai mall and make your way to the fountains to watch the light and sound show. It was a stunning show!

Before I knew it it was already time to leave and head on my next adventure. Another of my bucket list items. Egypt!
